Family portrait of equestrian Champions. Peter Lang-McMahon represented Australia at the Olympics, his wife Michelle at WEG. Their three daughters are following in their footsteps, the oldest recently competed at the FEI Youth Equestrian Games.
I met this beautiful family a while back when I was working in the stables of a friend of theirs. Right after saying hello this idea struck me, to show all the family members in one painting, by stacking them as if they were jumping over each other. The idea just wouldn't let go of me anymore. I made a sketch and it got pitched to Michelle. She commissioned the painting for her father’s 80th birthday in 2023. I’m excited and happy that it worked out nearly as well on canvas than it did in my head and very grateful that I got the opportunity.
