About the Artist
Lisa Guenther studied Art and Design in Munich, Germany. Horses have always been her main subject and passion. She has worked with them in one way or another all her life, as groom, riding coach and in the field of equine assisted therapy. She relocated to Australia in 2013 and can be seen at shows with her art studio on wheels, a customised horse trailer.
Since taking the plunge into being a full time artist, Lisa exhibitions her work in galleries but stayed open to receiving private commissions. Among her clients are racing legend Michelle Payne, olympic medalist Shane Rose, Actor Tom Burlinson and the Lang-McMahon family.
Lisa works in a unique technique of Ink and Oil Paint on Canvas. The background stays white so the subject is free to appear out of the white as well as fading back into it. Lisa is best known for showing the speed in which horses move through a blur and fade affect that is enabled by the layers of ink underneath the Oil Paint. She likes to work on big format, the largest Painting being 2x3 metres.
